ESCA Community Scholarship

The East Sacramento Community Association (ESCA) is a nonprofit, volunteer-led organization established in 1958 to protect, maintain, and enhance the unique blend of residential and commercial features that define East Sacramento.

Each year, ESCA awards a community scholarship to recognize graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated a strong commitment to their community through service, leadership, and academic effort.


Requirements and Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a high school senior graduating in the current academic year (on or before July 31)
  • Reside in or attend school in East Sacramento at the time of application*
  • Have a household that is an ESCA member in good standing
  • Demonstrate community service and/or volunteer experience
  • Be accepted to or planning to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational/trade school in the upcoming academic year
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

East Sacramento Boundaries*

For eligibility purposes, East Sacramento is defined as:
Business 80 to the Union Pacific overcrossing on the west and north; the Union Pacific railyard on the northeast and east; and Highway 50 on the south.
